Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for patient care and oral health education, with expertise in dental hygiene procedures, infection control, and patient assessment. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in promoting oral health, assisting with dental procedures, and ensuring an exceptional patient experience through effective communication and clinical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
• Conduct oral health assessments by examining patients' teeth, gums, and oral tissues to identify issues requiring further treatment.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring high-quality imaging for accurate diagnosis.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health.
• Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in electronic health record (EHR) systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
• Follow strict infection prevention protocols, including sterilization of dental instruments and maintaining aseptic techniques in the clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental cleanings and radiography.
• Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation and scheduling purposes.
• Experience working in general dentistry with a strong understanding of dental terminology and equipment.
• Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles is preferred but not required; experience with pediatric patients is advantageous.
• Familiarity with healthcare infection prevention and control standards, including HIPAA compliance management.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about dental care practices.
• Prior experience working in a dental office or clinic setting demonstrating professionalism and attention to detail.

Pay: $65.00 - $75.00 per hour
