Duties VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF ASSIGNED DUTIES The general practice dental officer serves as a practicing dentist who performs a full range of professional dental procedures in connection with the treatment of commonly encountered dental diseases or dental health problems requiring standard corrective - restorative - or preventive measures FUNCTIONS OR SCOPE OF DUTIES The General Dentistry dental officer shall be proficient in all aspects of general dentistry including the ability to perform selected specialty services Specifically - the provider should possess the expertise and competency to perform the following: 1 Make oral and radiographic examinations of the oral cavity 2 Diagnose pathological or irregular oral conditions 3 Administer local anesthesia 4 Perform routine and complex restoration of teeth 5 Perform simple and complex extractions of teeth 6 Perform prosthetic dentistry to include immediate dentures - full dentures - partial dentures - crowns - and fixed bridge work 7 Perform simple routine endodontic procedures on single and multi-canal teeth 8 Perform routine and surgical procedures within the scope of a general dentist The scope of practice that a specific provider may perform is defined through the medical center credentialing and privileging process Work Schedule: Monday - Friday - 08:00 am -04:30 pm Virtual: This is not a virtual position Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: May be Authorized EDRP Authorized: Contact Karen Chapman [email protected] - the EDRP Coordinator for questions/assistance Learn more Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not authorized Bargaining Unit: This position is a AFGE Bargaining Unit position.
