Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical and dental histories, to develop individualized treatment plans.
• Perform general dentistry procedures such as dental examinations, cleanings, fillings, extractions, root canal therapy, and prosthodontics.
• Utilize dental imaging technology and interpret results to diagnose oral health issues accurately.
• Administer local anesthesia with proper aseptic technique for patient comfort during procedures like oral surgery and extractions.
• Collaborate with dental assistants in four-handed dentistry to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.
• Maintain detailed and compliant medical documentation in electronic health records systems
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment options, and post-procedure care to promote long-term oral health.
• Adhere strictly to infection control protocols and sterilization procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Communicate effectively with clients using clear explanations of diagnoses and treatment plans while fostering trust and confidence.
• Stay current with advancements in dental techniques, materials, and technology to continually enhance clinical skills.

Experience

• Proven experience in general dentistry within a busy dental clinic environment is required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, anatomy, and infection control standards.
• Experience performing diverse procedures including dental extractions, root canal therapy (endodontics), orthodontics, prosthodontics (crowns, bridges), oral surgery.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail and delivering exceptional patient care.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and state healthcare laws related to medical documentation and patient privacy.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex procedures clearly to patients of all ages—including pediatrics—while building rapport.
