Dental Assistant

You will assist dentists during procedures, ensure clinical protocols are followed, and contribute to creating a welcoming atmosphere for all patients.

Duties

• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management policies.
• Assist dentists during various procedures such as oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow with four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
• Manage patient records and medical documentation accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with clinical confidentiality policies.
• Monitor vital signs and assist with patient care before, during, and after treatments, providing excellent customer service as a dental receptionist when needed.
• Follow dental sterilization procedures rigorously to prevent infection transmission, utilizing aseptic techniques and adhering to healthcare infection prevention and control standards.
• Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments using patient management software and managing medical records efficiently.

Requirements

• Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, and procedures.
• Proficiency in dental assisting tasks including chairside assisting, X-ray taking, dental instrument processing, and dental sterilization procedures.
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for managing patient records and documentation.
• Strong understanding of infection control practices, including healthcare infection prevention protocols and aseptic technique.
• Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry as well as medical terminology related to oral health conditions.
• Ability to perform medical imaging procedures accurately while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, staff, and healthcare providers.
