We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team on Thursdays and Fridays. The ideal candidate will support clinical operations, assist with patient care, and ensure smooth workflow within our busy specialty dental practice. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to contribute to high-quality dental services while gaining valuable experience in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and sterilization procedures to maintain clinical efficiency.
• Assist dentists during various procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other general dentistry treatments.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) ensuring adherence to infection prevention protocols and radiation safety standards.
• Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Perform chairside assisting duties including patient management, vital signs measurement, and explaining procedures clearly to patients.
• Process dental instruments following sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures related to general dentistry and specialty fields like oral surgery and prosthodontics.
• Experience with dental radiography (X-ray) techniques and 3D scanner operation preferred.
• Familiarity with infection prevention management, sterilization protocols, and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, especially in pediatric dentistry settings when applicable.
• Knowledge of medical documentation practices including medical records management and medical imaging documentation.
• Demonstrated understanding of healthcare infection control policies and clinical confidentiality policies to ensure compliance at all times.
