Job Description:
Our established multispecialty pediatric, general, and orthodontic practice in Brooklyn Heights (11201) is seeking a reliable, high-energy, and experienced Lead Dental Assistant to oversee our General Dentistry (Adult) department. Our office is highly accessible and just a short walk from the R, 2, 3, 4, 5, A, and C trains. We are a fast-paced office where culture is everything—you must be a dedicated team player who is ready to collaborate, maintain a positive attitude, and support your colleagues across all departments.

Schedule & Hours

• Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (with occasional Mondays)
• Hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Break: 1-hour lunch break

Key Responsibilities

• Opening & Closing Duties: Take full responsibility for opening and closing procedures. This includes turning on computers and clinical equipment in the morning, taking out the trash at the end of the day, and completely setting up treatment rooms so they are ready for the next morning.
• Clinical Excellence: Provide expert chairside assistance to the General Dentist during a variety of adult dental treatments and procedures.
• Digital Impressions & Lab Management: Utilize the 3Shape Trios scanner for digital impressions, take traditional impressions when needed, and accurately track and maintain all lab cases.
• Adult Dept. Leadership: Manage back-office flow for the general dentistry team, mentor assisting staff, and ensure efficient daily scheduling.
• Cross-Specialty Collaboration: Support the pediatric and orthodontic departments during peak times or scheduling transitions.
• Inventory & Supplies: Oversee dental supply ordering, manage inventory, and maintain equipment for the general dentistry department.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure strict compliance with OSHA, CDC, and infection control protocols; maintain clean, stocked, and sterilized operatories.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Must be a strong, reliable team player with an excellent work ethic.
• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with a strong background in General Dentistry / Adult Care (Lead experience preferred).
• Proficiency with the 3Shape Trios intraoral scanner is required.
• Strong organization skills to manage and track dental lab cases.
• Ability to take high-quality traditional and digital impressions.
• Experience with Pediatric (Pedo) and Orthodontic (Ortho) dentistry is a big plus!
• Proficiency in Dentrix software is required.
• Valid New York State dental assisting credentials and X-ray license.
• High reliability and punctuality to manage the opening and closing schedules.
