Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and sterilized equipment, adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
• Assist dentists during various procedures such as restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments
• Taking dental X-rays using digital imaging technology
• Record detailed medical and dental histories, vital signs, and other relevant patient information in electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Dentrix
• Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow and patient comfort
• Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and dental terminology to ensure understanding and compliance
• Manage patient scheduling, confirm appointments, and support the dental reception duties while maintaining HIPAA compliance for confidentiality

Qualifications

• Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures
• Knowledge of dental assisting techniques including X-ray procedures, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques
• Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix
• Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry
• Ability to perform vital signs measurement and assist with medical imaging procedures in pediatric or adult patients
• Familiarity with dental specialties like endodontics, prosthodontics, pediatric dentistry, or orthodontics is advantageous
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and hygienists

Monday: 12:30pm - 7:00pm

Wednesday: 9:30am - 7:00pm
