Job Description

We are searching for a team oriented and personable dental hygienist available to work 4 days a week in a small, friendly, high-quality and long-established practice in Worthington. Office is currently open 9-6 Monday, 11-7 Tuesday, 9-6 Thursday and 7-3 Friday. For the right candidate, there may be a little flexibility in scheduling hours.

We would be happy to train a motivated and talented new graduate of a Dental Hygiene program if he or she matches our other requirements. Someone experienced in the field who is interested in working fewer than 5 days a week might also find this a good opportunity. Pay range is from $40 - $60; starting compensation is dependent on your skill/experience level at hire. Benefits include paid time off (including all major holidays) and free/discounted routine dental care for your immediate family

In our small (2 dentist) office, we focus on quality and always doing what is best for the patient, NOT chasing production goals. We are a high tech office and work hard, but the office has a reasonable work pace and a welcoming (NOT corporate) feel. If you are passionate about being a key player in a well respected and patient-centered practice, get along well with co-workers, truly care about patients and putting them at ease, and are comfortable working in a dental office that employs a great deal of digital technology, we’d like to hear from you.

Requirements for this position include:

  • State of Ohio Dental Hygienist License
  • CPR Certification
  • X-Ray certification
  • Current required immunizations

Our ideal candidate has:

  • A friendly and upbeat personality.
  • An eagerness to be part of a high-functioning, dedicated team.
  • Solid core clinical skills with a willingness to learn and grow
  • An interest in developing truly supportive and positive relationships with co-workers and patients
  • A real commitment to reliability and professionalism, and putting the patient’s needs first.

Duties

  • Take dental x rays and CBCT (willing to train on CBCT)
  • Assess each patient’s oral health and chart condition of teeth and gums.
  • Perform thorough dental cleanings including scaling, polishing, and root planing as needed.
  • Communicate with the dentist regarding any issues found during examinations that might require current or future intervention.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene best practices and preventive care.
  • Willingness to occasionally pitch in and help prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments according to infection control protocols (only if needed to keep on schedule if Dental Assistant gets behind).
  • Assist the dentist during exams and procedures as needed.
  • Document findings and treatment plans accurately and fully in Dentrix.
  • Monitor and maintain hygiene supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and other regulatory standards.
  • A general willingness to pitch in as needed to support patients and co-workers and keep the office functioning at its best.

Forward your resume and any other pertinent information you would like us to consider to [email protected].
