Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Hygienist to join our team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a crucial role in providing quality dental care to our patients. Our modern family-focused practice has 3 new full-time hygiene treatment rooms that offer the latest technology. Ideal candidate must be outgoing, organized, caring, and enjoy working with families.
Duties:
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, root planing, and polishing
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Conduct oral cancer screenings
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized oral care instructions
- Administer local anesthesia as needed
- Assist the dentist during procedures by handing them instruments and maintaining a sterile field
- Document patient treatment records accurately and maintain patient confidentiality
- Follow infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff
Skills:
- Proficiency in dental software systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
- Knowledge of medical terminology and coding for accurate documentation
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic technique
- Familiarity with pediatric dental care and techniques for working with children
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients on oral health practices
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other dental professionals
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate patient records
- Knowledge of dental anatomy and oral health conditions
