Oral Surgery Treatment Coordinator / Implant & Regenerative Care Coordinator

Lakeshore Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery is a well-established, multi-location oral and maxillofacial surgery practice serving Southern California for more than 20 years. Our practice is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Oral Surgery Treatment Coordinator to join our team 4–5 days per week.
This is not an entry-level front office position. We are seeking an individual with prior oral surgery experience who is comfortable discussing complex surgical treatment plans, dental implants, bone grafting, regenerative procedures, and anesthesia services with patients and referring offices.
Position Overview
The Treatment Coordinator serves as a key member of our patient care team and is responsible for helping patients understand their surgical treatment options, coordinating care, obtaining financial arrangements, and ensuring a positive patient experience from consultation through treatment completion.
Preferred Experience
Previous Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS) experience Dental implant treatment coordination Bone grafting and regenerative procedure coordination Experience with CBCT-based treatment planning discussions Knowledge of sedation and office-based anesthesia services Experience obtaining insurance pre-authorizations for oral surgery procedures Additional Qualifications: Minimum 3 years of dental treatment coordination experience Excellent communication and patient relationship skills Strong understanding of dental insurance benefits and claims processing Experience with treatment presentation and financial arrangements Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced surgical practice
Key Responsibilities
Treatment Coordination Present treatment plans for oral surgery, implant, bone grafting, and regenerative procedures Educate patients regarding treatment options and expected outcomes Coordinate surgical scheduling and treatment sequencing Communicate effectively with referring dentists and specialists Insurance and Financial Coordination Verify benefits and obtain pre-authorizations Review patient financial responsibility Coordinate financing options and payment arrangements Follow up on pending treatment and unscheduled patients Surgical and Anesthesia Billing Knowledge Understanding of oral surgery coding and billing Experience with IV sedation and anesthesia billing preferred Knowledge of medical and dental insurance coordination Familiarity with implant and grafting claim submissions Patient Experience Provide exceptional customer service Build trust and confidence with patients and families Help patients navigate complex treatment decisions Maintain professional and compassionate communication
