Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant license
- Current Radiology, CPR, and OSHA certifications
- Previous dental assisting experience
- Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization procedures
- Understanding of infection control and workplace safety regulations
- Strong computer and patient-recordkeeping skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Dependable, organized, and attentive to detail
- Experience with Dentrix practice-management software and familiarity with 3D scanners is a plus
Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and help them feel comfortable
- Prepare patients for examinations and dental procedures
- Select and set up instruments, equipment, and materials
- Assist the dentist using four-handed dentistry techniques
- Sterilize instruments and maintain proper infection-control standards
- Perform approved clinical duties within the scope of licensure
- Complete laboratory tasks as directed
- Provide oral-hygiene and post-operative care instructions
- Clean, disinfect, stock, and organize treatment rooms
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Assist with scheduling appointments and payment procedures
