Schedule for the Orthodontic Dental Assistant:
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM
- Wednesday: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
- Friday: 7:30 AM - 1:00 PM
- Saturday: 7:30 AM - 12:00 PM (once per month)
Requirements and Responsibilities of the Orthodontic Dental Assistant:
- No orthodontic experience required, previous dental assisting experience is required.
- Capture and maintain orthodontic records, including photos, CBCT scans, and intraoral scans.
- Assist doctors during bonding procedures for both labial and lingual braces.
- Place separators, fit bands, change and tie/untie archwires, and make orthodontic adjustments.
- Work with SureSmile wires, distalizing archwires, and submit cases for SureSmile wires and aligners.
- Deliver orthodontic appliances, take impressions, and perform laboratory duties, including pouring models and fabricating Essix retainers.
