Are you a skilled, reliable, and confident dental assistant looking for a long-term home in a small, supportive practice? Our general dentistry office, led by Dr. Dorothy Paul, is seeking a Registered Dental Assistant to join our close-knit team of six.
About Our Practice
We are a 5-star general dentistry practice located in the Westchase/Piney Point area of Houston (77063). Our office hours are Monday–Thursday office (7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.), with Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays always off. We focus on providing excellent, personalized care for our patients in a welcoming and professional environment. Our practice is primarily fee-for-service (no Medicaid).
Who We’re Looking For
Because we are a small office with only one dental assistant, this role requires a strong, experienced professional who can take ownership of the position and work closely with Dr. Paul.
The Right Candidate Will Be:
- Skilled & Confident – experienced in chairside assisting and dental procedures.
- Coachable & Respectful – able to take direction, accept feedback, and adjust without taking offense.
- Patient-Focused – warm and professional with patients; comfortable educating and conversing with them about dental care.
- Responsible & Reliable – shows up on time and communicates proactively if unable to.
Responsibilities
- Punctuality for the 6:45am start of workday.
- Chairside assisting with all dental procedures.
- Patient education and post-treatment instruction.
- Proper infection control protocols., instrument sterilization, periodic equipment maintenance, operatory setup and re-stocking.
- Taking high-quality radiographs and impressions
- Supporting Dr. Paul and the clinical team to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Data entry (treatment plan and clinical notes)
- Fabricate quality temporaries, whitening trays, and retainers.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license in Texas.
- Previous experience as a dental assistant (minimum 2+ years).
- Certifications: Radiology and CPR, (as required by Texas regulations).
- Nitrous oxide certification is a bonus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
