Dental Front Office
Job Description
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and professional Front Office Receptionist to join our dental office. The receptionist is the first point of contact for patients and plays an important role in creating a welcoming and positive experience. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and customer service skills, be detail-oriented, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced dental environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival.
- Answer and manage incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries.
- Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments.
- Check patients in and out and maintain accurate patient information.
- Verify dental insurance eligibility and benefits.
- Collect copayments, deductibles, balances, and other patient payments.
- Explain office policies, payment options, and basic insurance information to patients.
- Maintain and update electronic patient records.
- Obtain necessary patient forms, identification, and insurance information.
- Communicate effectively with dental assistants, hygienists, dentists, and office management.
- Coordinate treatment appointments and follow-up visits.
- Assist with treatment plan scheduling and patient communication.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and welcoming reception area.
- Handle patient concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with general administrative and clerical tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous dental office or medical front desk experience preferred.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Professional, friendly, and welcoming personality.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy office.
- Comfortable using computers, phones, and dental practice management software.
- Knowledge of dental insurance and terminology is a plus.
- Experience with insurance verification and patient billing preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
