Dental Front Office
Job Description
We are looking for a friendly, organized, dependable, and motivated Dental Front Office Receptionist / Treatment Coordinator to join our dental team.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable handling both front desk responsibilities and treatment coordination and should have a good understanding of dental insurance, treatment plans, and patient financial arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and provide excellent customer service
- Answer phones, respond to patient inquiries, and manage the appointment schedule
- Schedule and confirm appointments while helping maintain a productive schedule
- Present dental treatment plans clearly and confidently to patients
- Discuss treatment costs, insurance estimates, copays, deductibles, and patient financial responsibility
- Follow up with patients regarding unscheduled and pending treatment
- Help patients understand the importance and benefits of completing recommended treatment
- Verify dental insurance eligibility and benefits when needed
- Understand common dental insurance terminology, including deductibles, annual maximums, frequencies, waiting periods, limitations, and exclusions
- Submit and follow up on insurance claims, pre-authorizations, and outstanding insurance issues as needed
- Collect patient balances and work on accounts receivable (A/R)
- Review outstanding patient balances and follow up on collections
- Maintain accurate patient information and documentation
- Complete daily front-office and end-of-day responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with the dentist, clinical team, insurance companies, and patients
Qualifications
- Dental front office experience strongly preferred
- Experience with dental insurance and treatment plan presentation preferred
- Good understanding of PPO dental insurance plans and patient benefits
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- Comfortable discussing treatment costs and collecting payments
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a busy dental practice
- Dependable, professional, and willing to take ownership of assigned responsibilities
- Experience with dental practice-management software is preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
