Duties

• Assist orthodontists during procedures such as bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance fittings with precision and efficiency
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all materials are ready for patient appointments
• Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans while adhering to strict infection prevention protocols and radiation safety standards
• Manage patient records using Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices related to orthodontic appliances and provide post-treatment instructions to promote optimal results
• Monitor vital signs and medical history updates to support comprehensive patient care in pediatric dentistry and general dentistry contexts
• Maintain clinical cleanliness by processing dental instruments according to sterilization procedures and infection control policies

Experience

• Prior experience working as a dental assistant in a busy dental clinic environment, preferably with orthodontic
• Knowledge of dental terminology, equipment operation, and dental instrument processing techniques
• Familiarity with dental x-ray procedures, oral surgery assistance, endodontics, prosthodontics, and intraoral imaging including 3D scanners
• Strong understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and clinical confidentiality policies
• Ability to communicate effectively using dental terminology while maintaining a compassionate approach for pediatric patients
• Certification in dental assisting or related healthcare fields is highly desirable
