Job Description
Southlands Dental, a well established dental office is looking to hire an exceptional dental assistant to add to their dynamic team. We are seeking candidates who are team players, have exceptional people skills, are able to anticipate and provide support to the doctor/ hygienist and posses an amiable chair-side manner.
Our office utilizes leading edge technology including Dentrix software, Digital Radiographs, Intraoral camera, Primescan, CBCT and Soft tissue lasers. As a valuable member of our office you will be utilizing these technologies to help assist in daily function.
Training is available as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Set up treatment rooms for procedures.
- Maintain sterilization of instruments and disinfection of operatories, ensure compliance with infection control protocols and safety regulations as per OSHA standards.
- Input patient records while maintaining patient confidentiality through HIPAA compliance.
- Seat patients in their respective operatories, ensure patient comfort and safety while delivering exceptional care.
- Assist Dentist/ Hygienist and anticipate procedural needs.
- Take radiographs, intra oral photos, scans and impressions as needed.
- Perform lab procedures including model fabrication, whitening trays, retainers as well as communicate with dental labs.
- Maintain schedule and patient flow in a timely manner.
- Educate patients regarding post operative care and treatment plans as needed.
- Floss and Polish teeth and give oral hygiene instructions.
- Maintenance of dental supplies and equipment.
- Support administrative team.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Dental Assistant Certification or at least 1 year of experience as a dental/ hygiene assistant.
- Understanding of dental terminology preferred.
- CPR certification preferred.
- Experience with Dentrix software preferred.
- OSHA, HIPAA and infection control certification preferred.

Pay: $20-$27/ hour
