Dental Assistant

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a dental clinic environment, demonstrating proficiency in various dental assisting tasks. This role involves supporting the dentist during procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. A strong understanding of dental terminology and practices is essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following infection control protocols.
• Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation, including patient history and treatment plans.
• Utilize EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for patient management and scheduling.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment plans.
• Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging as needed.
• Support pediatric dentistry by providing compassionate care to young patients.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
• Collaborate with the dental receptionist to manage appointments and patient flow effectively.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred.
• Proficiency in using dental software such as Oryx
• Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures including prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry is preferred.
• Ability to perform chairside assisting duties effectively while maintaining patient comfort.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, particularly in pediatric settings.
