Duties

• Diagnose and develop comprehensive orthodontic treatment plans based on detailed patient assessments and dental diagnoses.
• Apply various orthodontic appliances such as braces, aligners, retainers, and other corrective devices to improve dental alignment and bite issues.
• Perform clinical procedures including dental extractions, oral surgery, and the placement of dental implants when necessary for orthodontic treatment.
• Utilize advanced dental imaging techniques to evaluate jaw structure, teeth positioning, and overall oral health.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and dental records in compliance with HIPAA and state healthcare regulations.
• Collaborate with general dentists and specialists in prosthodontics, endodontics, pediatric dentistry, and anesthesiology to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Educate patients on treatment options, oral hygiene practices, and post-treatment care to promote optimal results and patient satisfaction.
• Adhere strictly to infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure a safe clinical environment.
• Manage client communication effectively by explaining procedures clearly and addressing patient concerns with professionalism.
• Stay current with advancements in orthodontics, dental terminology, medical terminology, and healthcare diagnosis to provide cutting-edge care.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited institution.
• Valid state license to practice dentistry with specialization in orthodontics.
• Proven experience in dental office or clinic settings with a focus on orthodontics preferred.
• Proficiency in using orthodontic software such as Epic or Eaglesoft for patient management.
• Strong knowledge of dental fabrication techniques and medical imaging technology.
• Familiarity with electronic health records systems like Dentrix is advantageous.
• Excellent client communication skills with the ability to explain complex procedures clearly.
• Knowledge of infection control standards and aseptic techniques essential for safe practice.
• Ability to perform dental extractions, root canal therapy, oral surgery, and other advanced procedures confidently.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development in areas such as pediatrics, Invisalign treatments, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry practices.
