Duties

• Perform comprehensive dental hygiene services including cleaning, scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments with precision and care.
• Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to develop personalized treatment plans.
• Educate patients on proper dental care practices, emphasizing preventive strategies and oral health maintenance tailored to pediatric and general dentistry needs.
• Take and interpret dental x-rays using advanced imaging equipment while ensuring radiation safety protocols are followed.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
• Assist the dentist during procedures through four-handed dentistry techniques, chairside assisting, and managing dental equipment efficiently.
• Implement infection prevention measures by following strict aseptic techniques, sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection control standards to safeguard patient and staff safety.

Qualifications

• Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current state certification.
• Proven experience with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and EHR management.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding practices.
• Hands-on experience in pediatric dentistry is highly desirable; familiarity with pediatric-specific tools and techniques is a plus.
• Expertise in infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control protocols.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively on dental care practices.
• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and patient assessment.
