Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental x-ray equipment, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis.
• Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current symptoms to support comprehensive care.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster long-term oral health.
• Assist dentists during various procedures with chairside assisting, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
• Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment, to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

Requirements

• Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures.
• Proven experience working in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings with a focus on pediatric patients preferred.
• Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation and scheduling.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
• Familiarity with infection control standards, healthcare privacy regulations (HIPAA), and maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Ability to perform chairside assisting with competence in handling dental equipment and supplies efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction, education, and team collaboration.

Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 30.0 per week
