Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of dental procedures including dental examinations, cleanings, restorations, extractions, root canal therapy, prosthodontics, orthodontics, oral surgery, and dental implants
- Conduct thorough patient assessments utilizing medical imaging, dental diagnosis techniques, and knowledge of anatomy to develop effective treatment plans
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and state healthcare laws by accurately documenting medical records and treatment details
- Utilize dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix for scheduling, charting, billing, and maintaining detailed patient records
- Maintain strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques and adhere to OSHA standards to ensure patient and staff safety
- Communicate clearly with patients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, post-operative care instructions, and preventive oral health strategies
- Collaborate with team members in four-handed dentistry practices to optimize workflow efficiency and patient comfort
- Stay current with advances in dental technology and techniques through ongoing education and training
Experience
- Proven experience working in a busy dental clinic or healthcare setting with a strong background in general dentistry
- Demonstrated proficiency in using dental practice management software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix
- Hands-on experience performing diverse dental procedures including extractions, root canals, prosthodontics, orthodontics, oral surgery, and implants
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience treating pediatric patients is highly desirable
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical imaging techniques, and healthcare diagnosis processes
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations along with state healthcare laws governing medical documentation and patient privacy
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages while demonstrating empathy and professionalism
