Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive pediatric dental examinations, including patient assessment and diagnosis using dental terminology and medical imaging techniques.
- Deliver a wide range of dental treatments such as dental restorations, extractions, root canal therapy.
- Utilize advanced dental software systems like Eaglesoft for accurate medical documentation and record-keeping in compliance with HIPAA and state healthcare regulations.
- Apply aseptic techniques and infection control protocols diligently to ensure patient safety during all procedures.
- Communicate effectively with young patients and their guardians, explaining diagnoses and treatment plans clearly to foster trust and understanding.
- Collaborate with the dental team to coordinate care, including dental fabrication and integration of dental implants or endodontic procedures when necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pediatric dentistry best practices, medical terminology, and emerging technologies to enhance patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Valid state license to practice dentistry with specialization or certification in pediatric dentistry.
- Proven experience in pediatric dentistry or general dentistry with a focus on children’s oral health; prior experience with dental office or clinic environments is preferred.
- Proficiency in dental software platforms in Eaglesoft for charting and medical records management.
- Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge relevant to oral surgery, orthodontics, endodontics, and other specialized procedures for children.
- Knowledge of infection control standards and aseptic techniques aligned with healthcare diagnosis protocols.
- Excellent client communication skills to educate families about dental health, treatment options, and preventive care strategies.
- Ability to perform dental extractions, root canal therapy, orthodontic adjustments, and other complex procedures efficiently and safely.
- Commitment to adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of medical records in accordance with legal requirements.
