Part-Time Dentist – Community Pediatric Dental Screenings

About the Opportunity

The Floss'N Xpertz is seeking a compassionate and licensed Dentist to partner with a Registered Dental Hygienist in Alternative Practice (RDHAP) to provide dental screenings and examinations for children enrolled in local Head Start programs.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a dentist who is passionate about preventive care, community outreach, and improving access to oral healthcare for underserved families. Services are currently scheduled at two Head Start locations on October 8, 2026, and October 15, 2026, with potential opportunities for future community-based programs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct dental screenings and examinations for children ages 18 months to 7 years.
• Provide fluoride varnish treatments with parental consent.
• Educate children, parents, and caregivers on oral health and age-appropriate nutrition.
• Identify dental concerns and recommend follow-up care when appropriate.
• Collaborate with the RDHAP and Head Start staff to support positive oral health outcomes.
• Travel to designated Head Start locations within the San Diego area.
• Complete required documentation and screening records.

Qualifications

• Active California Dental License in good standing.
• Experience working with pediatric patients preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to serving diverse and underserved populations.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with community partners and healthcare professionals.

Schedule & Compensation

• Part-time contract opportunity.
• Approximately 3–5 hours per screening day.
• Current dates: October 8, 2026, and October 15, 2026.
• Additional community screening opportunities may become available.
• Compensation will be discussed during the interview process.
