Duties
- Perform a wide range of dental procedures including dental examinations, cleanings, restorations, extractions, root canal therapy, prosthodontics, orthodontics, oral surgery, and implant placements.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments utilizing medical and dental history reviews, clinical examinations, and diagnostic imaging to develop personalized treatment plans.
- Diagnose dental conditions accurately using dental terminology and medical diagnosis techniques; communicate findings clearly to patients.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and state healthcare laws by maintaining accurate medical documentation and medical records.
- Implement infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination during procedures.
- Utilize dental software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix for scheduling, charting, billing, and managing patient data efficiently.
- Collaborate with team members in four-handed dentistry practices to enhance workflow efficiency and patient comfort.
- Educate patients on oral health care practices, treatment options, and post-procedure care to promote ongoing dental health.
- Maintain a sterile environment through proper infection control procedures and adherence to OSHA standards.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, endodontics, orthodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery to provide cutting-edge care.
Skills
- Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical imaging techniques, and infection control standards.
- Experience with pediatric dentistry and providing care for children is highly desirable.
- Skilled in performing complex procedures including dental implants, root canal therapy, extractions, orthodontics, and prosthodontics.
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to explain treatment plans clearly and empathetically.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with a focus on patient care quality.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and state healthcare requirements for legal compliance in medical documentation.
- Familiarity with dental fabrication processes for crowns or bridges is a plus.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to healthcare diagnosis and treatment planning.
