Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Oral Surgery Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will support one oral and maxillofacial surgeon by preparing treatment areas, assisting during procedures, managing patient care, and ensuring clinical excellence. Responsibilities
Assist the doctor during surgical procedures by handing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment using dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques.
Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary dental instruments, equipment, and supplies, including dental x-ray equipment and 3D scanners.
Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
Seat patients, review medical histories, take and record vital signs, and prepare patients for surgery.

Take dental x-rays and medical imaging to assist with diagnosis and treatment planning.
Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort throughout procedures to support optimal patient care.
Ensure infection prevention management by adhering to healthcare infection control standards and infection control protocols.
Coordinate with the receptionist to schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and facilitate effective communication within the team.

Qualifications
Previous experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare environment is highly preferred, especially in oral surgery or general dentistry settings. Dental hygenists are encouraged to apply.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and dental equipment operation is required.
Familiarity with dental sterilization procedures, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques is necessary to maintain clinical safety standards.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, team members, and healthcare professionals.
A proactive attitude towards infection prevention management and medical records accuracy will ensure smooth daily operations.
