Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Experience Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. This vital role involves providing exceptional chairside assistance, managing patient care, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. As an Experience Dental Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering comprehensive dental services in a fast-paced environment, supporting both general and specialized dentistry practices.

Duties

  • Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and confidence
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all supplies are ready for patient care
  • Take high-quality dental x-rays and medical imaging while adhering to infection prevention management protocols and aseptic techniques
  • Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort before, during, and after procedures to promote optimal patient care
  • Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care instructions, and answer questions related to dental terminology and procedures
  • Maintain clinical cleanliness by processing dental instruments according to sterilization procedures and infection control policies
  • Support the dental receptionist with appointment scheduling, patient management software updates, and administrative tasks as needed
  • Operate dental equipment including 3D scanners, dental chairs, and other clinical tools with proficiency
  • Adhere strictly to healthcare infection prevention policies while practicing four-handed dentistry to optimize efficiency

Skills

  • Extensive experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for accurate documentation and record-keeping
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures across general dentistry specialties including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry
  • Proficiency in taking dental x-rays (including dental x-ray techniques) and medical imaging aligned with safety standards
  • Expertise in dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and infection prevention management to ensure aseptic technique is maintained at all times
  • Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques for efficient patient flow
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations including HIPAA compliance for protecting patient information
  • Excellent patient management skills with the ability to communicate effectively about treatment plans and oral health education
  • Knowledge of dental equipment operation including 3D scanners and other advanced clinical tools
  • Strong organizational skills for managing medical documentation and medical records accurately
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies
