Duties

  • Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and care.
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all tools are ready for use according to infection prevention management protocols.
  • Take high-quality dental x-rays and operate medical imaging devices such as 3D scanners to support accurate diagnoses.
  • Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
  • Conduct vital signs assessments and document medical documentation accurately to support comprehensive patient care.
  • Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures in both Spanish and English, addressing questions, and ensuring comfort throughout visits.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control standards while processing dental instruments efficiently.
  • Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and coordinating with the dental receptionist to optimize clinic operations.

Experience

  • Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with a solid understanding of general dentistry procedures. International dentists are welcome
  • Hands-on experience with dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry, chairside assisting, and dental instrument processing.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and clinical procedures related to oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
  • Experience performing dental x-rays, oral surgery assistance, and infection control practices aligned with healthcare infection prevention standards.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in both Spanish and English to effectively serve diverse patient populations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA regulations and maintaining strict confidentiality of medical records.
