Job Overview
Looking to start a fulfilling career in healthcare, but don't have prior dental or orthodontic experience? We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable, and friendly Entry-Level Orthodontic Assistant to join our team!
If you bring a positive attitude, great communication skills, and a desire to learn, we will provide all the hands-on clinical and administrative training you need to succeed.
Schedule & Hours
- Position Type: Part-Time
- Schedule: 2-3 days per week 8am to 5pm
- Ideal for candidates looking for a predictable schedule in a boutique, low-stress practice environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome patients and parents into treatment chairs and prepare them for appointments
- Assist Dr. Funk during routine wire changes, adjustments, and orthodontic procedures
- Maintain high standards of hygiene by sterilizing instruments and preparing treatment bays
- Take digital photography, assist with iTero® digital impression scanning, and maintain clinical records
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, braces care, and retainer wear in a encouraging way
- Help keep patient appointments running smoothly and maintain team organization
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: No prior orthodontic or dental experience required—we are happy to train the right candidate!
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- People Skills: Personable, warm, and comfortable communicating with kids, teens, and parents.
- Work Ethic: Detail-oriented, reliable, proactive, and eager to pick up new skills.
- Tech Comfort: Comfortable learning practice management software and modern digital equipment (e.g., iTero scanners).
- Certifications: Having or being willing to obtain a Pennsylvania Dental Radiology (X-Ray) certification is a plus! (We can provide guidance and support to help you get certified).
