Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all supplies are ready for procedures.
  • Assist dentists during a variety of treatments including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry by providing chairside support.
  • Take high-quality dental x-rays and operate medical imaging equipment while adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Provide patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring patient comfort throughout visits.
  • Follow strict infection prevention management practices including aseptic technique and dental sterilization procedures to maintain a safe clinical environment.
  • Support the dental reception area by managing patient scheduling, verifying insurance information, and handling medical documentation with professionalism.
  • Maintain dental instruments and equipment including 3D scanners, dental chairs, and other clinical tools to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Uphold clinical confidentiality policies while managing sensitive medical records and documentation in accordance with healthcare standards.

Experience

  • Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and general dentistry procedures is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience with dental x-ray techniques, dental sterilization procedures, infection control protocols, and aseptic technique is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of EMR systems such as Dentrix enhances efficiency in managing patient information.
  • Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry practices is a plus for supporting young patients effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment practicing four-handed dentistry techniques is beneficial.
  • Certification or training in medical imaging or healthcare infection prevention is an asset but not mandatory; ongoing professional development is encouraged.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
