About the Role

The Clinical Director, Dental Services provides senior clinical and administrative leadership for The HealthCare Connection’s dental program under the direction of the Chief Dental Officer. This position oversees dental providers and the Dental Practice Manager while supporting clinical quality, operational performance, financial sustainability, and strategic initiatives. The Director maintains an active clinical practice, providing direct patient care approximately 60% of the time, and serves as the senior dental leader in the Chief Dental Officer’s absence.

What You’ll Do
Provide comprehensive, high-quality dental care while maintaining an active clinical practice approximately 60% of the time.
Lead, supervise, and develop dentists, dental hygienists, and the Dental Practice Manager, promoting accountability, professional growth, and clinical excellence.
Partner with the Chief Dental Officer to oversee clinical quality, patient safety, infection prevention, regulatory compliance, and clinical policies and procedures.
Oversee the overall performance of dental services, including patient access, provider productivity, staffing, operational efficiency, and patient experience.
Collaborate with the Chief Dental Officer on departmental budgets, financial performance, resource allocation, and operational improvement initiatives.
Support the strategic direction and continued growth of the dental program, identifying opportunities to expand services, improve access, and strengthen patient care.
Represent dental leadership in organizational initiatives and serve as the senior dental leader in the Chief Dental Officer's absence.

Qualifications

Required
Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS)
Current unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the state of Ohio
Current DEA registration
Six (6) years of progressive experience in dentistry
Four (4) years of demonstrated leadership, supervisory, or administrative experience
Preferred
Post Graduate education in business management, healthcare administration, public health or other related degree.
Experience in FQHC or other Community Health Centers
