Dental Hygienist
Job Description
Dental Hygienist
We are a well-established private dental practice looking for a passionate, patient-focused Dental Hygienist who believes dentistry goes beyond routine cleanings.
Our approach focuses on patient education, periodontal health, and the connection between oral health and overall wellness. We believe in advocating for our patients by helping them understand their condition, the reasons behind treatment recommendations, and the long-term impact on their health so they can make informed decisions about their care.
Our office also educates patients on sleep apnea, airway health, and custom oral appliance therapy, helping patients understand the relationship between dental anatomy, sleep, and whole-body health.
Responsibilities Include
- Providing comprehensive hygiene care, periodontal maintenance, preventive treatments, and scaling and root planing as appropriate.
- Completing periodontal assessments, charting, oral cancer screenings, and radiographs.
- Educating patients on periodontal disease, oral hygiene, treatment recommendations, and the connection between oral and systemic health.
- Collaborating with the dentist and team to deliver individualized, comprehensive care.
Who We're Looking For
- A licensed Dental Hygienist in the state of Michigan.
- Someone passionate about patient education and committed to continued learning.
- A strong communicator who can explain complex dental concepts in a clear, approachable way.
- A hygienist with a solid understanding of periodontal disease and its relationship to overall health.
- Someone who sees themselves as a patient advocate, not simply someone who completes a cleaning.
- A dependable, adaptable team player who enjoys collaboration and takes pride in providing thoughtful, comprehensive, patient-centered care.
Experience with sleep apnea, airway-focused dentistry, or oral appliance therapy is a plus, but a willingness to learn and grow in these areas is just as important.
