Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) – Private Practice

$50–$58 per hour | One-hour adult appointments | Single-booked hygiene | 5% 401(k) match + profit sharing

Stono Dental Care is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist to join our growing, locally owned private practice in the West Ashley/Johns Island area.

We recently expanded our doctor team and are adding a hygienist to support our growing patient base. We believe excellent hygiene care requires adequate time, strong clinical support and respect for the hygienist’s professional judgment. Adult prophylaxis appointments are scheduled for a full hour, and our hygienists are single-booked—never expected to manage two patients simultaneously.

About the Position

Our hygienists are important clinical partners—not simply providers expected to keep a schedule moving. You will have the time and technology to provide thorough care, educate patients and collaborate directly with our dentists.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Comprehensive periodontal assessment and charting
• Adult and pediatric prophylaxis
• Periodontal maintenance and scaling and root planing
• Digital radiographs and intraoral photography
• Oral-cancer screening and preventive care
• Clear, individualized patient education
• Collaboration with our dentists regarding clinical findings and treatment needs
• Accurate clinical documentation and excellent infection-control practices

Our practice uses digital radiography, intraoral cameras, digital photography, intraoral scanning, CBCT imaging and other modern technology to help patients understand their oral health and make informed treatment decisions.

Qualifications

• Active South Carolina dental hygiene license
• Current CPR certification
• Strong clinical, communication and documentation skills
• Patient-centered and compassionate approach
• Dependable, professional and collaborative

Local-anesthesia and nitrous-oxide certifications are preferred but not required.
