Duties

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and oral examinations.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using advanced dental imaging equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health.
• Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and patient comfort.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, documenting all patient interactions thoroughly.
• Ensure strict infection prevention management by following aseptic techniques, sterilization procedures, and HIPAA compliance standards to protect patient confidentiality.
• Monitor and operate dental equipment safely while performing routine maintenance checks.
• Review medical records for relevant health information that may impact dental treatment plans.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Registered Dental Hygienist in a busy dental office or clinic environment.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, general dentistry procedures, and pediatric dentistry best practices.
• Experience with dental x-ray procedures, including taking intraoral radiographs safely and accurately.
• Demonstrated expertise in healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic technique and sterilization protocols.
• Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively on dental care topics.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and medical coding related to dental treatments is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and patient assessment tasks.

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
