Dental Hygienist – Oral Surgery

Join Our Oral Surgery Team
We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our oral surgery practice. This is not a traditional dental hygiene position. Our hygienists play an integral role in the surgical team and work closely with the oral surgeon to provide exceptional patient care throughout surgical procedures.

This position is ideal for a hygienist who enjoys a fast-paced clinical environment, wants to expand their skill set, and is interested in becoming an essential part of an oral surgery team.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will work alongside the oral surgeon and clinical team while providing both patient care and surgical support, including:

  • Assist the oral surgeon during surgical procedures.
  • Administer local anesthetic in accordance with applicable licensure and practice requirements.
  • Obtain the appropriate licensure/certification to administer IV medications. Our practice will provide information regarding the licensing process and requirements during the interview.
  • Monitor patients throughout surgical procedures and communicate changes in patient status to the surgical team.
  • Maintain strict aseptic technique throughout procedures.
  • Maintain an unobstructed operative field using surgical retractors, sponges, suction, and irrigation equipment.

  • Understand the doctor's diagnosis and treatment recommendations and assist in developing appropriate treatment plans.
  • Clearly and compassionately communicate treatment options and information to patients.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
  • Perform other clinical and related duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

  • Current dental hygiene license in good standing.
  • Strong clinical and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a surgical team.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, procedure-focused environment.
  • Willingness and ability to obtain the required licensing/credentials for IV administration.
  • Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused approach.
  • A desire to learn and expand your clinical skill set.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Dental Hygienist license
  • CPR certification
  • Thorough understanding of HIPAA and OSHA policies

  • Ability to work well with patients of all ages
  • Proficiency in dental software systems
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient care

What We Offer:

  • Competitive Pay, Bonus potential, annual merit reviews
  • Health, dental, vision and life insurance with HSA option
  • Paid time off, paid holidays, sick time, and Paid Parental Leave
  • 401(k) retirement savings with company match
  • Short- and Long- Term Disability
  • Uniforms/Scrubs provided
  • Variability in hygiene scheduling which helps break up the typical back-to-back cleaning appointments
  • The most up to date and cutting-edge technology
