Dental Assistant
Job Description
Dental Assistant + Patient Experience Coordinator | Vitality Dental, Kansas City
Fridays off. Real time with patients. A team that actually talks about why we do what we do.
At Vitality Dental, we don’t run on volume. We’re a fully out-of-network practice, which means we get to spend real time with every patient instead of rushing them through the chair. Our patients are health-minded adults who know their mouth is connected to the rest of their body, and they come to us because they want someone to listen, explain things clearly, and help them make decisions based on their long-term health, not their insurance plan.
We practice functional, whole-body dentistry. That means we look at things like inflammation, airway, bite, and lifestyle alongside the teeth themselves. We use biocompatible materials, digital scanning, in-house 3D imaging, and T-Scan bite analysis, and we’re always learning.
What this role looks like
This isn’t a “stay in your lane” position. You’ll be part of the clinical side and the patient experience side, which keeps the work interesting and lets you see a patient’s whole journey with us.
- Chairside assisting with restorative, cosmetic, and functional cases
- New patient concierge: you’re often the first person a new patient really gets to know. You’ll help them feel welcome, understood, and ready for their comprehensive visit
- Treatment coordination: helping patients understand their plan, their options, and the next steps, in plain language and without pressure
- Supporting the business team with anything that touches patient care and the new patient experience
You’ll love it here if you:
- Genuinely enjoy people and are curious about what matters to them
- Like explaining things clearly and kindly, without talking down to anyone
- Are organized, self-motivated, and take pride in thorough, accurate charting
- Want to grow your skills, not just repeat the same day forever
- Are interested in (or already into) whole-body health and wellness
What you’ll bring:
- Dental assisting experience, with strong knowledge of terminology, instruments, tray setups
- Confident with graphical and perio charting and appropriate documentation
- Experience with digital x-rays and electronic patient records (we use Open Dental)
- Current CPR certification
- Missouri Expanded Functions (EFDA) permit is a plus, but not required
Schedule
- Monday through Wednesday: 7:30am to 4:00pm
- Thursday: 6:30am to 3:30pm
- Fridays, weekends, and evenings off
What we offer
- Competitive pay
- Paid time off
- 401(k) retirement plan
- Paid continuing education (we love team members who want to learn)
- Employee dental discount
- A small, close team that meets regularly to train, share ideas, and improve how we care for patients
