Duties

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
• Assist with medical imaging procedures like X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient safety.
• Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options to enhance overall health.
• Conduct patient assessments, review medical histories, and document findings accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft.
• Support chairside assisting during various dental procedures, maintaining aseptic techniques and infection control standards.
• Collaborate with dentists to develop personalized treatment plans, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and dental terminology standards.

Qualifications

• Valid license as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state licensing requirements.
• Proven experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry preferred; familiarity with pediatric dentistry enhances patient rapport.
• Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft experience with medical coding is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques.
• Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately across diverse age groups, including pediatrics.
• Ability to perform chairside assisting tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of infection control and documentation review.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and HIPAA compliance to ensure confidentiality and accuracy in documentation.
