Dental Hygienist

We're hiring for a position as a dental hygienist in our growing practice.

About Us:

Dr. Victoria E. Shack, DDS is a proud owner Smile Shack Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry. We take pride in caring for our patients and we value our time with our patients and are committed to improving and providing treatment through oral health education and preventive care. In addition to family dentistry, we offer pediatric dental care with Dr. Sullivan, and periodontal care with Dr. Robles.

We are looking for the right team member to spearhead the hygiene department and provide excellent care for our patients. We have 3 operatories and the practice is a small and intimate practice. We currently have digital x-rays with Dexis, CBCT, intraoral cameras, Trios intraoral scanning, and iTero scanning for Invisialign discussion. We use CareStack as our cloud practice management software. This allows for all our providers to access the schedule online at home and review when needed.

Treatment Hours:
Mondays 9-5pm
Alternate Wednesdays 1-7pm
Thursdays 9-5pm
Alternate Saturdays 9-2pm

Duties:

• Perform dental cleanings to remove plaque, tartar, and stains from patients' teeth
• Take dental x-rays for diagnostic purposes
• Conduct oral cancer screenings and check for signs of gum disease
• Administer local anesthesia and apply fluoride treatments as needed
• Take iTero scans and has the ability to discuss Invisalign, malocclusion and esthetics
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for at-home care
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic systems such as Dentrix or CareStack
• Follow strict infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients

Experience:

• Proficiency in using dental software systems
• Ability to diagnose periodontal disease and treat SRPs
• Strong understanding of infection control protocols and practices

Skills:

• Excellent communication skills to effectively educate and communicate with patients
• Attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation of patient records
• Ability to take vital signs and record them accurately
• Strong organizational skills to manage patient schedules and maintain efficient workflow

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $50.00 - $57.00 per hour
